Adjust leading

To change the amount of white space between lines of text, you can adjust the type leading.

1. Select the text you want to change.
2. On the Format menu, click Line Spacing.
3. In the Between lines box, type a line spacing number followed by a measurement unit.

   How?

   To set a fixed amount of line spacing between lines or paragraphs, specify the amount of space in one of the following units:

   • For inches, type In
   • For centimeters, type cm
   • For points, type pt
   • For picas, type pi

   Line spacing is added above each line or paragraph with these units.

   To set line spacing that varies depending on the text size, specify the amount of space as sp units. Line spacing for each line will accommodate the largest font in that line, plus the amount of extra space that you specify.

   Sp line space is added below each line of text.
