Change the data source for a Mail Merge

Before you begin, make sure you have an existing data source.

  1. On the Tools menu, point to Mail Merge, and then click Open Data Source.
  2. In the message box, click Yes.
  3. Click the name of a data source.

    If you don't see the file you want, switch to the drive or folder that contains the file.

  4. Click Open.

Note   In your publication, the text "<<missing mail merge field>>"  will appear in place of field codes from the old data source that have been changed or deleted.
