View how a publication will look with data merged into it

Before you can view how a publication will look after it is merged with a data source, you must have connected your publication to a data source, inserted at least one field code, and merged the publication.

  1. On the Tools menu, point to Mail Merge, and then click Show Merge Results.

    Field codes are replaced by information from the first entry of your data source. You cannot edit your data source entries here, but you can format, move, or delete data.

  2. In the Preview the publications task pane, use the navigation buttons Back button Forward button or type in an entry number to see what other entries look like in your publication.  
  3. When you are finished, click Close.
