Choose which TrueType fonts to embed for commercially printed publications
- On the Tools menu, point to Commercial Printing Tools, and then click Fonts.
- Click the name of the font whose embedding status you want to change.
- Do one of the following:
- If the font you want to embed is marked No under Embed Font, click Embed.
- If the font you do not want to embed is marked Yes under Embed Font, click Don't Embed.
Notes
- When you use the Pack and Go Wizard ( File menu) to prepare your files for your printing service, font embedding is turned on by default. If you do not want to embed fonts, clear the Embed TrueType fonts check box in the Wizard. It's best, however, to include all fonts and graphics so that your commercial print service has all the data they require to adjust anything in your publication.
- If you use a font that has license restrictions, such as Preview only or May not embed, your printing service may not be able to use the font to make corrections. Consider switching to an unrestricted font, or ask your printing service if they have the font installed on their computer.
- If you use non-TrueType fonts in your publication, ask your printing service if they have the fonts you used. If they do not have the fonts, discuss whether they can purchase the fonts or substitute other fonts.
