Set advanced print options for commercially printed publications

Before you begin this procedure, make sure your publication is set up for spot- or process-color printing (Tools menu, Commercial Printing Tools, Color Printing).

  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. In the Name box, click the printer you want.
  3. Click Advanced Print Settings.
  4. On the Publications Options and Device Options tabs, click the options you want, and then click OK on each tab.

    For PostScript files, Microsoft Publisher does not by default print a blank plate for a page that does not use one of the process or spot colors. You can turn off the Don't print blank plates option if you're creating a PostScript file for a program that requires every page to have a plate for each color.
