Troubleshoot em or en dashes

The em dash ( — ) or en dash ( – ) doesn't appear.

The automatic insertion of special marks might be turned off.

1. On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect.
2. Click the AutoFormat as You Type tab.
3. Under Replace as you type, select the Hyphens with en/em dashes box.
