Create a publication
Create a publication with a publication wizard
- On the File menu, click New.
- In the Start Working side pane, in the Select by list, click Publication Type.
- In the Start Working side pane under Start from a Design, click the type of publication you want.
- In the left pane, click the design you want.
- Do any of the following:
- To change the publication's color scheme, in the side pane click Color Schemes.
- To change the publication's font scheme, in the side pane click Font Schemes.
- To change the publication's design, in the side pane click <Publication> Options. For instance, if you're working on a business care, click Business Card Options.
- In your publication, replace the placeholder text and pictures with your own or with other objects.
- Save your publication.
Create a publication from a design set
- On the File menu, click New.
- In the Start Working side pane, in the Select by list, click Design Set.
- In the left pane, click the type of publication you want.
- Do any of the following:
- To change the publication's color scheme, in the side pane click Color Schemes.
- To change the publication's font scheme, in the side pane click Font Schemes.
- To change the publication's design, in the side pane click <Publication> Options. For instance, if you're working on a business card, click Business Card Options.
- In your publication, replace the placeholder text and pictures with your own or with other objects.
- Save your publication.
Create a new publication based on an existing one
This procedure works only if you've upgraded from an earlier version of Publisher, created a template yourself with either Publisher or Word, or want to use a third-party template created for Publisher.
- On the File menu, click New.
- In the Start Working side pane, under Create New From Existing, do one of the following:
- Click Choose Publication to open a Publisher template.
- Click Choose Word document to open a Word template.
- Click the template you want to use for your publication.
- Click Create New.
- Make the changes you want to create a new publication.
- On the File menu, click Save.
- In the Save In box, select the folder where you want to save the new publication.
- In the File name box, type a new name for your publication.
- Click Save.
Create a publication from a blank page
- On the File menu, click New.
- Click Blank Publication.
Create a publication from a template
- On the File menu, click New.
- In the Start Working side pane, click Templates.
- Double-click the template you want to use for your publication.
- Publisher opens a copy of the template.
- Make the changes you want to create a new publication.
- On the File menu, click Save.
- In the Save In box, select the folder where you want to save the new publication.
- In the File name box, type a name for your publication.
- Click Save.
