To use right-to-left features, you must be running a 32-bit Microsoft Windows operating system that supports the language you are using — for example, the Thai or Arabic version of Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition, or any language version of Microsoft Windows 2000.
Right-to-left languages
You can search for strings of text containing right-to-left direction or text in either paragraph direction. You can search for text with matching kashidas (Arabic only), alef hamza (Arabic only), or diacritics.
South Asian languages
South Asians languages, such as Thai, Hindi, and Vietnamese, may not take full advantage of the search options in Microsoft Office XP programs. For example, the Match case and Find whole words only options will not work with South Asian text. However, they will find matching criteria in Latin text in the document.
