Create a team Web site

Before you can create a team Web site, you should ask your system administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for the URL of a Web server running SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft.

1. Create a new network place.

   Windows 2000 or Windows Millennium Edition

   1. From the New File task pane in any Office program, click Add Network Place. If the New File task pane is closed, click File, and then click New.
   2. Click Create a new Network Place, and then click Next.

   Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 98

   1. From the New File task pane in any Office program, click Add Web Folder. If the New File task pane is closed, click File, and then click New.
   2. Click Create a new Web Folder, and then click Next.

2. Type the URL of the server that will host your team Web site.

3. Type a name for the shortcut to the team Web site, and then click Next.

4. Follow the instructions in the wizard to set up your team Web site.
