Troubleshoot Web scripts

When I click the Refresh button, a message appears telling me my macro changes will be lost.

This message appears when you have made changes to a macro in the Visual Basic Editor and have also changed the copy of your Web page in the Microsoft Script Editor.

To save the changes to your macro, do the following:

  1. Click No in the warning message.
  2. Switch to the Visual Basic Editor.
  3. Export any modules you have changed.
  4. In the document, click Refresh.
  5. Click Yes in the warning message that appears.
  6. Import the modules to restore the changes to your macros.

I can't find the Insert Script, Show All Scripts, or Remove All Scripts command.

The Web script commands are not displayed by default. To use the Insert Script, View Script, Show All Scripts, or Remove All Scripts command, add these Web script commands to the Tools menu by doing the following:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Commands tab.

  2. In the Categories box, click Tools.

  3. Drag Insert Script from the Commands box over the Tools menu. When the Tools menu displays the menu commands, point to the Macro submenu. When the Macro submenu displays the menu commands, point to the location where you want the command to appear on the menu, and then release the mouse.

  4. Repeat the previous step for each command you want to add to the Macro submenu.

  5. In the Categories dialog box, click Close.
