View file properties

You can view document properties from the currently open document or from the file list in the Open dialog box:

From the current document

• On the File menu, click Properties.

  Note   If the document is in a document library, the document library properties are displayed in the File Library Properties dialog box. To see other document properties, click File Properties.

From the Open dialog box

1. On the Standard toolbar, click Open .
2. In the Open dialog box, select the document for which you want to view properties.
3. On the Views menu, do any of the following:

   • To preview the contents of the file before opening it, click Preview.

   • To view such properties as the size of the file and the date the file was last modified, click Details.

   • To view all document properties, click Properties.
