Specify anonymous user access settings

This feature is available on webs hosted by web servers running SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft and FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 only.

  1. On Tools menu, point to Server, and then click Administration Home.
  2. On the Site Administration page, under Users and Roles, click Change anonymous access settings.
  3. Click On or Off to enable or disable anonymous (guest) browsing to your web site.
  4. If anonymous user access is enabled, select a role from the Assign anonymous users to the following role list.
  5. Click Submit.

Tip

If none of the current roles offer the level of access that you want anonymous (guest) users to have, create a custom role for them.
