Rename a web site
When you rename a web site, Microsoft FrontPage automatically updates all
internal hyperlinks and other web settings with the new site name.
- On the Tools menu, click Web
Settings, and then click the General
tab.
- In the Web name box, type a new name for
the web.
Notes
- Renaming a disk-based web site changes the path to the web site
on
your local computer or local network. Renaming a
server-based web site changes the web site's URL
on the server.
- If you rename a web site after publishing it, you'll need to
republish the entire web site under the new name. Hyperlinks
from other web sites to your old web site will no longer
work, so be sure to advise your site visitors of the new
path or URL. You can also redirect the old URL to the
new URL by creating a virtual directory on the server;
consult your server documentation for details.
