Edit an external CSS

To modify a style that is contained in an external cascading style sheet (CSS), do the following:

  1. On the View menu, click Folders.
  2. In the Folders list, double-click the CSS you want to open.

    External style sheets have a .css extension.

  3. On the Format menu, click Style.
  4. In the List box, click the type of style you want to modify.
  5. In the Styles box, double-click the style you want to modify.
  6. Under Style type, choose Paragraph or Character.

    Note   Some styles may not have this choice.

  7. Click Format, and then specify the attributes you want to format:
  8. Close all dialog boxes to return to the CSS.

In Page view, do one or both of the following:

Modify a style

  1. From the Normal pane, click the Format menu, and then click Style.
  2. In the List box, click the type of style you want to modify.
  3. In the Styles list, double-click the style you want to modify.
  4. Under Style type, choose Paragraph or Character.
  5. Click Format, and then specify the attributes you want to format:
  6. Close all dialog boxes to return to the page.

Create a user-defined style

  1. From the Normal pane, click the Format menu, and then click Style.
  2. Click New, and then in the Name (selector) box, type a name for the user-defined style.
  3. Under Style type, choose Paragraph or Character.
  4. Click Format, and then specify the attributes you want to format:
  5. Close all dialog boxes to return to the page.
