Create a new theme
To create a new theme, you must change an existing theme and then save
your changes under a new name.
- On the Format menu, click Theme.
- In the list,
select a theme
on which you
want to base
your new
theme.
Tip
Select a
theme that has
the characteristics closest to the theme you want to
create so that you have fewer elements to change.
Or, select the Blank
theme; its elements are very plain so that you can easily
tell what you've changed.
- Click Modify.
- Do any of the following to modify the theme:
Change the colors
- Click Colors, and then click the Custom tab.
- Under Theme color set, specify whether you want to change colors for the normal or vivid color
set.
- In the Item box, click the item for which you want to change the
color.
- In the Color box, specify the color you want to use.
- Repeat
steps 3
and 4 for each item you want to change,
and then click OK.
Change the
graphics
- Click Graphics.
- Next
to Theme graphic set, specify
whether you want to change graphics for the normal or
active graphic
set.
- On the Picture tab
in the Item box, click the graphical
element you want to change, and then specify the picture
or pictures you want to use.
To find the graphic in the current web site
or file system,
click Browse.
- If the graphical element
you selected displays text,
you can change the
font by clicking the Font tab.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each graphical element you want
to change, and then
click OK.
Change the
styles
- Click Text.
- In the Item box, click the
item for which you want to
change the style.
- Under Font,
click a font to use.
To view
other
options
for
changing
the
theme's
style by
using cascading style sheets
as
an inline
style, click
More
Text
Styles.
- Repeat
steps 2
and 3 for each item you want to change,
and then click OK.
- Click Save As, type a
name for the new theme, and then click OK.
Note When you modify a preset theme, you must save your changes to a new
theme; you cannot overwrite a preset theme.
