Create a frames page

  1. Check to see whether your browser supports frames

    How?

    1. On the Tools menu, click Page Options.
    2. Click the Compatibility tab.
    3. Select your browser from the Browsers drop-down list.
    4. Depending on which browser you choose, frames will be selected or deselected under Available Technologies.
  2. In Page view, on the File menu, point to New, and then click Page or Web.
  3. In the New Page or Web task pane, under New from template, click Page Templates.
  4. Click the Frames Pages tab.
  5. Click a frames page template you want to use, and then click OK.
  6. Set the initial page to show in each frame.

    How?

    1. Click the frame whose initial page you want to set.
    2. Then do one the following:

      Select a page that is already created

      Click Set Initial Page in the frame, and then do one of the following:

      • Select the page from among the list of pages you have already created in the current working folder.
      • In the Look in box, locate the page you want to open.
      • Browse to the page you want to use by clicking WWW button.
      • In the Address box, type the URL of the page.

      Create a new page and set it as the initial page to show in that frame

      • Click New Page in the frame you want to set an initial page for. FrontPage creates a new page in the frame, and the new page is automatically set as the initial page.

Note   When you use frames pages and frames to organize your web site, you should not use shared borders or link bars. Using shared borders or link bars along with frames will make your web site confusing to navigate.
