About Java applets

Java applets are frequently used to add effects and interactivity to a web site, for anything from animations to games.

The applet's ability to display properly and avoid errors, however, depends on the browser settings of some site visitors.

Microsoft FrontPage lets you design your web site for compatibility with specific browsers and technologies. If you enable or disable Java applets, or if you design a web site for compatibility with a browser that doesn't support Java applets, the selection for Java applets will be unavailable in the Insert Web Component dialog box.

Note   For details on features and technologies that are supported by specific browsers, see the Browser Compatibility Help topics.
