This page allows you to set the maximum number of message allowed in the mailbox at any one time or the maximum space in bytes the mailbox can get to. You can also define what action to take if the defined Quota's are exceeded. The following properties are available on this page:
Properties |
Description |
Max messages |
Defines the total number of messages allowed in the mailbox at any one time.
If a user gets a lot of messages, but does not clear them out regularly, this will prevent the messages filling too much space on the hard disk. |
Allocated storage |
Defines the hard disk space available for the user mailbox. Enter the amount of space available to this mailbox in either Kb or Mb, e.g. 100Kb (where 1Kb = 1024 bytes) or 1Mb (where 1Mb = 1,048,576 bytes.) |
When quota reached |
Defines the action to take if the quota is reached. |
No action |
No action will be taken. Selecting this option disables the quota. |
Accept and notify |
The mailbox will be allowed to increase in size and quantity of messages, but the administrator will be notified that the quota has been exceeded. |
Reject |
Rejects all messages to that mailbox after the quota has been exceeded. |
Reject and notify |
As above, but the postmaster is notified that the quota has been exceeded. |
