Addresses

This section allows you to define which machines have access to the Web Service. Only the defined machines or ranges of machines will be allowed access to administer the system. The following properties have the given definition:

Property

Description

Permit connections to the following addresses

This restricts access to only the defined IP numbers, only allowing connections from the listed IPÆs.

Refuse connections from the following addresses

This will block connections from the defined IP number or range of numbers.

For more information on the fields on this page and how they interact with each other please see the Addresses and Masks topic in the Security chapter of this document.

Add an IP address

To add an IP address or range to any of the fields described above, add the IP address (or range, e.g. 192.168.0.0) and Subnet mask (255.255.0.0) to the relevant section and press the 'Add' button.

Remove an IP address

To delete any of the entries, select the entry from the list and click the 'Delete' button.

So, to allow only one machine to access the Web Admin interface, define only that IP number and subnet mask (as well as the loopback address 127.0.0.1) in this field. It is not possible to remove the loopback IP number as this could 'lock you out of the system' where there was a problem with the LAN IP number defined in the system.
