Address book |
The address book page allows the administrator to view and manage the entries within the address book.
Entries can be added, deleted or edited. The level of information given can be all fields or enough to suit your needs. The properties on this page are as follows:

Common name |
This is the name that person is known by e.g. someone called "Robert" may be known as "bob" so the common name would be "bob".
Search using A-Z pad. Define the search pattern to return entries/Common names that fit the criteria, or click on one of the letters A - Z to return entries/Common names beginning with that letter, e.g. if you wish to see all the entries/Common names beginning with the letter 'A', click on 'A'. The page will refresh and return any entries/Common names that start with the letter 'A' or 'a'. |
Mail address |
The email address. This may be an external address if the address book has been updated with imported data.
Search using A-Z pad. Define the search pattern to return entries/email addresses that fit the criteria, or click on one of the letters A - Z to return entries/email addresses beginning with that letter, e.g. if you wish to see all the entries/email addresses beginning with the letter 'A', click on 'A'. The page will refresh and return any entries/email addresses that start with the letter 'A' or 'a'. |
Given name |
The first name of the mail addressee, as opposed to a nickname or pet name. Using the example in Common name, this would be "Robert" |
Last name |
The last name or family name for the addressee. |
Organization |
The name of the company or department the user works for. |
Limit list to |
Defined the number of entries that are visible on any one screen. |
Note: Only the information that has been entered will be available when looking for any person listed in the LDAP server database. Many mail clients require a common name be in the LDAP entry to return that entry.
The Entries list consists of the following information:

The address of the user |
Common name |
The name that user is known by. |
Delete button |
Imported entries have this delete button to remove the entry. |
To add an entry into the LDAP server database, click the 'Add' button. See the topic Adding LDAP entries to the database in the examples section of this document. The Add entry properties page is covered on the following page of this document.
To view an entry, click on the email address of the entry you wish to view.
To delete an entry, click the 'Delete this entry' button. The entry will then be removed and the page refreshed.
