OUR BELOVED FRIENDS! We greet you in the beloved name of JESUS, our Lord and Messiah. May God's loving kindness and grace be yours in abundance! Our time in Israel since September has been significant and blessed and we would like to share with you some of the things the LORD has done while we were there. CELESTIAL SIGNS In our previous letter we remarked on some of the amazing celestial signs that are being displayed in the heavenlies during the biblical year of Passover 1996 to Passover 1997, and continuing on after this. Maybe you will remember how we shared with you how this was started off on the night of April 3/4, 1996 with an awesomely clear and beautiful lunar eclipse. On that night when Israel was commemorating their ancient first exodus from Egypt, the moon turned into blood in a clear display over the Israeli sky. Following this remarkable complete lunar eclipse, there is much more to follow. Some of it having already taken place, some of it yet to come as we are writing this letter to you. What an amazing and awsome God we serve, who holds the universe in His hands and regulates it at His will! |

- Sept 13/14, 1996. Commencement of a stellar constellation, possibly of Revelations 12, that will make its clearest display in 1999. This sign is marked over the Feast of Trumpets, which coincides with the Jewish New Year, called Rosh Hashanah.The Jewish year 5757 begins on this date, and is year number 19 of a 19 year cycle and a leap year. The type of year is "Deficient-Leap". The number 19 in Biblical terms denotes judgment. - Sept 23, 1996. Autumnal equinox coincides with the Day of Atonement - September 26/27, 1996. In the early morning hours before the start of the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, another 100% lunar eclipse! Moon becomes like blood. - Dec 13, 1996. Geminids meteor shower begins the day after the new moon - March 23, 1997. Comet Hale-Bopp will make its closest approach to the planet earth on the Biblical Feast of Purim, during which the Jewish people commemorate the victory of Esther and Mordechai over Haman's conspiracy to utterly destroy the Jewish people. This comet may be the brightest one yet discovered. - On the very same day there will be another lunar eclipse over Israel! This time it will be a 90% eclipse. - September 16, 1997. Another complete lunar eclipse or bloody moon....... This falls in the middle of the "Days of Teshuva" or repentance. - May 7, 2000. Venus, Mercury, Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Moon will all be in a straight line. Josephus, "Antiquities of the Jews", book 3, chapter VII:7, says that these seven represent the menorah or lampstand in the temple,. This is the date that Solomon started to build the first temple and Ezra started building the second temple. I believe that these signs are given by God in preparation for the things that will befall planet earth as we approach the great and terrible DAY OF THE LORD. A day of great deliverance for all the godly, but a day of terror and doom for the unbeliever. I believe God wants our attention! He is displaying a cycle of heavenly signs to do that. These signs will eventually culminate in the return of the Messiah to the earth. Matthew 24: 29-30 states the following: �Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not shed her light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will morn and lament in anguish, and they willl see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.� The prophetic words of the ancient prophets will be fulfilled in utter perfection!. I would like to quote from two of them the following: Joel 2:28-32 'And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls Revelation 6:12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red And the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains They called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand? OPENING OF THE WESTERN WALL TUNNEL Ten days after Rosh Hashana the Jewish people observe Yom Kippur - the Great Day of Atonement. For the Jew this is the holiest day of the year. Yom Kippur of 1996, like the one of 1973, when the Yom Kippur War broke out, turned out to be very eventful: The temple mount is where once stood the glorious temple of Solomon and later the second temple built under Zerubbabel and Jeshua (Ezra 2:1-2). It was here, in the holy of holies, that the very Presence of God resided on the mercy seat above the ark of the covenant. It was on the day of Atonement that the Jewish High Priest would enter this area once a year to make atonement for the sin of the nation. This he would do by sprinkling blood on the mercy seat above the ark of the covenant, where the Shekinah glory or the real Presence of God resided. It was also here that the rest of the priests performed their functions. Next to the temple area King Solomon reigned from Mount Zion. Soon after the death and resurrection of JESUS the second temple was destroyed in 70 AD. Scripture teaches us that JESUS is both an eternal High Priest and an eternal King (Psalm 110, Heb 7). As High Priest He came for the first time to die for the sins of Israel and mankind (Isaiah 53), bringing into effect the New Covenant of Jeremiah 31:31.. But He will also come back one day in power and great glory to take up His throne in Jerusalem. This is His eternal Kingship and the fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant. On the evening of Yom Kippur last year (in Israel a Jewish day starts in the evening) we went to the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem. I was downstairs with the men and Drienie and some friends from our first tour went upstairs with the ladies. As I looked over the packed synagogue I saw a sea of Jewish men standing before the LORD in white prayer shawls. Young men and old men - all dressed in priestly garment. I suddenly had a glimpse of what God actually intended when He chose them as a nation. Later that evening we went to the Wailing Wall - the last remainder of the original wall that surrounded the second temple. It is the holiest spot for the Jew today because the Temple Mount has been desecrated by Islam. As I stood before the wall next to a number of other Jews, I sensed in my heart that God wanted them to move beyond this wall onto the Mount where once stood their glorious temple.... the very mountain from where the government of the Messiah will one day extend over all the earth when the millennium arrives. (Ps 2, Ps 110, Zech 14, Isa 2, Mica 4, etc.). Psalms 2 :6 "I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill. I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession Psalms 110 {Of David. A psalm.} The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth He will drink from a brook beside the way; therefore he will lift up his head Isaiah 2:1 This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem :2 In the last days the mountain of the LORD'S temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it :3 Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem :4 He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore Unbeknown to me the present government of Israel was in the process of planning the opening of an exit of the WESTERN WALL TUNNEL in the early hours of the morning following Yom Kippur. This is a tunnel excavation that stretches from the WAILING WALL to the VIA DOLOROSA, laying bare the last remainder of the wall that once surrounded the second temple of the Jewish people in the time of JESUS. In 70 AD this temple was utterly destroyed in fulfillment of His words in Math 24: 2 & Luke 19:44. Only a part of the wall surrounding the temple remained. At one point along this wall one comes to a spot that forms a straight line to the once Holy of Holies of the temple; and a stone believed to be the stone on which Abraham was to sacrifice his son Isaac. This stone is called the foundation stone of the Temple. At this very spot the wall is weeping ...with water continuously running down the wall. Also inside the tunnel is a replica of the temple that once stood on the temple mount. The tunnel runs right underneath the Muslim Quarter of the Old City, which was captured by the Israeli's during the famous SIX DAY WAR of 1967. An amazing milestone in our lifetime, when JERUSALEM was once again unified under Jewish authority, just as JESUS predicted in Luke 21:24: "....and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." After thousands of years of Gentile occupation! Excavations to the tunnel started soon after this war. Amazing as it is, the tunnel exits onto the spot at the Via Dolorosa where JESUS stood in trial at the hands of Pilate, the Roman procurator in Judea; and the Jewish Sanhedrin who had requested His execution. Immediately after the opening of the tunnel exit last year Muslim riots started in the Old City of Jerusalem. These riots spread to the rest of Israel and erupted into violent armed conflict, with many people losing their lives. The very rifles that Israel had issued to the Palestinians in the areas they had given away for humanist peace were used against them to kill. The violence had become the worst in years and army tanks were deployed to bring it under control. GOVERNMENT OF THE MESSIAH An important question that comes to mind is the following: WHY HAS THIS TUNNEL OPENING BEEN SUCH A SENSITIVE ISSUE? I believe it has to do with what the Temple Mount stands for. It is from this Mountain and the nearby Mount Zion, where Jerusalem started and where David and Solomon ruled, that the visible government of the Messiah will be extended after His return to the earth! It is here, symbolically, where the throne of David is situated! Zechariah 12 to 14 describes the glorious events that would lead up to the salvation of the Jews and the return of the LORD to the Mount of Olives, from where He was taken up into heaven after His death and resurrection. I will only quote the scriptures on His return and His taking up Kingship over Jerusalem and the earth: the final fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant. Zechariah 14 :1 A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you :2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city :3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle :4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south :5 You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him :6 On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost :7 It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime--a day known to the LORD. When evening comes, there will be light :8 On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea, in summer and in winter :9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name :10 The whole land, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up and remain in its place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses :11 It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyed. Jerusalem will be secure :16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles Satan, furiously sensing that Israel is moving closer to the visible reign of the Messiah here on earth, incited the Arabs to react with the hatred and violence that they did. Once the LORD returns to Jerusalem to take up His throne on Mount Zion, Satan's time will be over here on earth. The spiritual battle over this event will be the fiercest ever fought in the history of man. Every bit of Israel's modern existence and her coming into the age old inheritance promised to her by God has been contested diabolically by the evil one. It has been paid for by precious Jewish blood....starting with 6 million lives during the Nazi holocaust....which eventually led to the formation of the modern state of Israel. Within days after Israel proclaimed her independence on May 14, 1948, all the surrounding Arab countries attacked her ,viciously trying to wipe this young new born state from the map. Through a miracle of God Israel survived. This hatred would be repeated over and over, and every time Israel was attacked, God would defend her and extend her borders! MOON TURNING TO BLOOD The second complete lunar eclipse of 1996 commenced in the early hours of the morning of Sept 27, before the start of the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. During this evening we got together for prayer . The riots and fighting had spread all over Israel. Israeli soldiers were losing their lives as the evil demonic forces were venting their fury over the opening of the tunnel exit. Yasser Arafat, leader of the Islamic PLO, was calling on Arabs to gather militantly on the Temple Mount the next day. We wanted to get there before them. I sensed the LORD calling us to walk in prayer around the Old City walls and to pray specifically in front of the Golden Gate, which is halfway up the temple mount. As we took authority over the demonic forces of Islam and their evil intentions Drienie became physically ill. Around 3 o' clock the moon started to eclipse, becoming a dark brown colour. The fighting continued the next day around the temple mount and then subsided. The Feast of Tabernacles was starting! Christians from all over the world had come to Jerusalem to celibrate this wonderful feast with Israel. This is a prophetic foreshadowing of Zechariah 14:16. HEBRON During the time that followed people stood in amazement as the newly elected prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Nethanyau, continued to give in to the peace demands of the world and the Arabs. The policy of carving up Israel and giving away parts of the land for "peace' . This was in total contrast to what he had promised during the elections earlier the year. Many who had voted for him felt betrayed and let down. By now the greater part of Hebron has been given away to the Palestinians. It could be that Nethanayu had given in on the issue of Hebron because it had already been on the negotiations table through the previous government. What is important now is that he stand firm on the issue of the Golan Heights and on Jerusalem as the undivided capital of the Jewish people. Please pray urgently for this! The Golan Heights, or the mountains of Bashan, lies next to the Sea of Galilee and separates Israel from Syria. It is an area that Moses first conquered even before the children of Israel entered the promised land. It is a very strategic military area and agriculturally very fruitful . Numerous farms and kibbutzim are found here. Before the 6-Day War of 1967 this area was in Syrian hands and Israel took it in a war of self defence when once again different Arab states combined to annihilate Israel. Today Syria insists on having this whole area back, as well as a part of the Sea of Galilee in exchange for peace. Jerusalem, on the other hand, is a city that the world wants to internationalise; and part of it the Palestinians want as their capital. But God had intended it as the capital of the Jewish people.... Since the time of David...and even before that, when Abraham prayed that tithe to the eternal priest-king Melchizedek, king of Salem, who was not of worldly origin (Gen 14:17-24). At the beginning of last year the United Nations voted on the issue of Jerusalem and the outcome was 133:1 that Israel today is the illegal capital of the Jewish state! The only country that voted against this was Israel herself. Thus we see the reality of Psalm 2 and Zechariah 12:1-3 already in the making. I believe that Jerusalem, the city of the Great King, and that very king Himself, the Messiah, will finally be what the greatest international conflict of all ages will be about. Psalms 2 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain. The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One "Let us break their chains," they say, "and throw off their fetters. The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying "I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill. I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession You will rule them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like pottery. Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him The USA and its leadership has a big influence on the decisions of Israel. The USA, with its New World Order ideals and Freemasonry inroads into government is in its essence an opponent to the plan of God for the Israeli people. In one of the Peace Accord speeches, Bill Clinton, president of the USA, even went so far as to twist the eternal word of God: Numbers 23:9b states the following of Israel "Behold, a people who dwells apart, and shall not be reckoned among the nations." To make Israel look like any other nation of the world and to serve his one world peace ideals, he made the statement that this word no longer applies to Israel! Nethanyau, as a former Israeli ambassador to the UN has been deeply influenced by these ideals. Israel, too, is very vulnerable because it depends so much on the USA for financial aid. Nethanyau�s cabinet endorsed the Hebron agreement by a low margin of 11 to 7. One of its outstanding members, Benjamin Begin, son of the late prime minister Menachem Begin, resigned. Former Likud prime minister and Nethanyau's one time patron, Yitzhak Shamir declared: "I don't trust Benjamin Nethanyau anymore. He and his colleague betrayed the idea of the Land of Israel." This is very, very serious. The following is what a leading news magazine had to say over the give-away of Hebron: "...the real significance of the Hebron agreement was that it committed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanyau and his Likud bloc to a land-for-peace process they had rejected until now. And it moved the Americans into a new role . No longer just facilitators of the peace process, they were now mediators, with Ross drafting language for the agreement." Newsweek, January 27, 1997. All this has happened without Yasser Arafat keeping his part of the agreement: to take away the clause in the PLO charter that calls for the destruction of Israel.... MILITARY DISASTER About two short weeks after this signing Israel experienced its worst air disaster in its military history. Two military helicopters en route to Lebanon collided in heavy fog and rain in northern Israel, killing about 70 soldiers. If this is not a warning from above I don't know. Already the late prime minister, Yitchak Rabin had lost his life through assassination - a direct consequence of the dangerous land-for-peace dealings that the world is involved in over Israel. The word of God is clear on this issue. You do not tamper with the allotted borders of Israel for any humanist ideal! The land has been given in a perpetual covenant to the Jewish people. Genesis 15:18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates Genesis 13:15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever Also read Joel 3:2 and Leviticus 25:23 and Ps 105:8-11 on this issue. EXPECTING WAR Amongst the believers in Israel there is a strong expectancy of war with Syria. In Isaiah 17 it is mentioned that Damascus, the capital of Syria, would be leveled with the ground. This has never before happened in history. Not long before our return flight to South Africa I attended an emergency prayer gathering that church leaders had called together. The Holy Spirit was strongly present as the LORD's people were bringing to Him their supplications. When I returned home that night I had a very clear dream of war in Israel. During the meeting the following was highlighted: That such a war would be a result of all the sin that is taking place right now. That it would be sudden and quick, with much bloodshed. There seems to be 3 more wars that are highlighted in Scripture regarding Israel: - A war in which Damascus will be destroyed (Isa 17:1) - A war in which the combined forces of Islam and some ex-Soviet states will be destroyed (Ezek 38 & 39) - The final battle of Armageddon in which the Antichrist and his hordes will be destroyed (Rev 16:16) SOUTH AFRICA Arriving back in South Africa the LORD has blessed us with important divine appointments, both Gentile and Jewish. Not long after our arrival it was in the news headlines that the government of South Africa had been involved in plans to sell strategic military armament to Syria. This armament it had probably developed together with Israel in days of friendship and now would be used for the very destruction of that country! This is an extremely serious situation in the light of God's word. Should South Africa's government go ahead with this arms deal it would bring a major curse on the country because these weapons are to be used for the purpose of destroying Israel. The Word of God is very clear on this issue: "I will bless those that bless you and I will curse those who curse you..." Gen 12: 3. Please protest as strongly as you can about this potential move of the government. We also have found a situation where much inroad had been made into the leadership of South Africa by Islam. In Israel we became aware of the fact that South Africa is housing major training centers for Hamas fighters. Hamas is the militant Islamic organisation that wants to see the destruction of Israel through force and terror. It is even more militant than the PLO of Yasser Arafat. Both these organisations are demonic possessed. The suicide bus bombings that happened early in 1996, killing numbers of innocent Israeli civilians , were perpetrated by Hamas. The world leaders of Islam wants to unify Africa under its purposes and ideals. This includes South Africa. Two thirds of the present ANC government posts are filled by Islam. Most of the the deputy ministerial posts also. Islam is funding major projects like those connected to the infrastructure of South Africa. Already the emblem of Islam, a crescent moon and a star, can be seen on these projects. Islam is also funding the salaries of posts that are filled in the government by its members. Islamic leaders, like Gedaffi of Lybia, are conspiring to bring South Africa completely under the yoke of Islam by the next election in this country. This is very, very serious. Before its electoral victory in 1994, the ANC had received millions of dollars for its cause from Islamic countries such as Lybia. Nelson Mandela, leader of the ANC has embraced the arch terrorist Yaser Arafat of the PLO as a comrade in political struggle. He has also received an honorary doctorate from Iran, a country that wants to take the lead in a holy war against Israel. The writing seems to be on the wall. South Africa's current Jewish population is about 80 000, having shrunk from an earlier 120 000. I believe that God is going to use the ideological shaking in South Africa to fulfil His ancient prophetic purposes for the Jewish people; namely to bring them back to Israel. I also believe that God will use this situation to propel South African Christians into the call of taking the Gospel of the Kingdom to all nations. The return of the Jews to Israel happens in two phases according to the Bible. Jeremiah 16:16 speaks of a fisher period in which the Jews are free to return to their land peacefully. Then it speaks about a hunter period in which they would be hunted back to Israel. An example of such a hunter phase was the Nazi holocaust after which Israel was born. If we understand it correct a vicious anti-Semitism is going to sweep the world once again, starting in Russia, the Ukraine, etc. This will probably combine with the already existing hatred of Islamic countries like Iran and Lybia. Then it is going to spread in force phase by phase to other continents like Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, etc. I would like to just add the following too: As assuredly as God humbled and brought low the pride of Communism, He also will deal with Islam. And when that happens millions of souls who are in the evil grip of this principality will be released to the Kingdom of God. DRIENIE: OPERATION Drienie is going in for a hysterectomy on February 19. This can take a recovery period of up to 6 weeks and more. Please pray for us. For many years Drienie has experienced infections and difficulties in this area of her body. By His grace God has kept her, but we do believe that it is now the time to go ahead with the operation. May the LORD bless you and keep you in the awesome times we are living in! URGENT PRAYER REQUESTSThe Bible says that God would bring the Jews back from the nations to where He had scattered them and then He will pour out His Spirit on them. (Ezek 39:25-29) That the age old enmity between Jew and Gentile would be resolved. First of all this enmity will only in its essence be resolved in the Messiah. Their remains a veil over the Jewish heart, a veil of the letter of the law, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of JESUS, the Messiah, who is the image of God. Besides this, there are some major curses that we deal with from history: In the name of Christianity many Jews have been murdered, belittled and tortured. Examples are the Christian Crusaders, the Inquisition and the Nazi's who had signed a concordat with the Catholic Church. Various so called Christian countries have in many ways oppressed the Jews and on numerous occasions expelled them from their countries. During the persecution of the Jews in the World War II Christian countries were unwilling to give then refuge, thus encouraging Hitler further to go on with his diabolical plans. Even the Reformer Martin Luther turned anti-Semitic when the Jews did not accept the reformation. A great part of the Christian church attitude has been generally anti-Semitic. Church fathers targeted the Jews as Christ Killers and severed the church from its Jewish roots. Pagan holidays were introduced into the Christian calendar and the dates of others changed. Passover became Easter, etc. From the Jewish side there is the following: After the destruction of the temple in 70 AD, Rabinic Judaism was reorganised at a place called Javne, near Tel Aviv. All believers in JESUS as the Messiah were expelled from the synagogue and a curse of death was placed upon them. The name of JESUS (in Hebrew YESHUA) was turned into a curse word JESU, which were the first letters of an expression meaning: �May his name and his memory be blotted out forever. � The Jewish leaders also have prohibited the sacred name of YEHOVAH to be used in speaking. This is the very word that is used in Joel when God says: "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD (in Hebrew: JEHOVAH) shall be delivered" Joel 2:32. How can they call on the Name if it is prohibited. At the trial of JESUS the Jewish people called a very serious curse upon themselves when they shouted: "Let His blood be on us and our children!" Pray that the Government will stand firm on the issue of the Golan and Jerusalem as the undivided capital of the Jewish people Pray that the influence of Freemasonry and the ideals of the New World Order be broken over Nethanyau and those who are in government. That the Jewish people will utterly resist the giving away of the Golan and Jerusalem. This may lead to a war with Syria and a battle over Jerusalem; in which the UN will try to enforce their ideals onto this city and we will see the fulfillment of Zech 12-14. Pray that Israel would stand firm and expose the fact that the PLO has not kept their side of the bargain by removing the clause calling for the destruction of Israel. Pray for Ehud Olmert, the Mayor of Jerusalem. A man with a great love for Jerusalem. He is a friend of the Christians and a man I believe whom God really loves greatly. However, the devil dearly wants him out of his office. Also pray that he will stand firm on the Biblical issues of Jerusalem The nation of Israel is a house divided. The Middle East Peace Process has caused tremendous division amongst the Israeli people. It has also created an uncertainty and a wavering as where to head. This has been achieved by the diabolical plan of the PLO and other Arab countries to destroy Israel from the inside. After the Yom Kippur War of '73 the Arabs realised that they could not destroy Israel from the outside, having lost one war after the other. Then a "plan in stages" was concocted. By this they would weaken Israel from the inside through riots and terror; gaining as much territory as they can with the sympathy of the world media. With the help of the international world community and the actions of Israeli leaders such as Perez and Rabin a plan was finally laid down in which strategic areas of Israel's promised inheritance would be given away for so-called peace. This plan in stages led to the giving away of: - Jericho and Gaza: Jericho is the symbolic gateway of the country of Israel. It is this city that Joshua first captured when they entered the promised land - After this followed the area around Shechem, the first place where Abraham worshiped God - Then followed Bethlehem, the birthplace of David and Jesus. Symbol of royalty and salvation - After this followed Hebron, gateway to Jerusalem. It is here that David ruled for 7 years before he went up to Jerusalem to capture it as his capital - The last would be Jerusalem, City of the Great King. Seat of the throne of David. POSSIBLE WAR The price of this peace process has been high. Many, many Israeli's have lost their lives and the military has been demoralised. For the first time in modern history an Israeli prime minister has been assassinated. I believe that the only way that the effects of the peace process can be overcome is through another war and the supernatural intervention of God. When this war does come, please pray - that God would keep His hand of protection over Israel and the believers dwelling in the land. - that it will destroy the evil of the Peace Process - that God would use it to BOND Christians and Jews as never before - that there would be a great openness from Christians to assist Israel in her time of need Pray for the youth in Israel and for the soldiers The Israeli youth have been greatly influenced by the seduction of worldly peace. It has even become a sort of cult. The commemoration of Rabin�s assassination a year ago was turned into a big peace rally. Soldiers in the Israeli army are finding it increasingly difficult to be singleminded on the Zionist ideal of their forefathers. The Peace Process has brought in a double-mindedness. For the first time a military post had been deserted and more than 50% of the soldiers are seeking psychological help. The worst military disaster occurred about two weeks after the signing away of Hebron when two Israeli helicopters collided, killing about 70 soldiers. For Christians to continue to stand with Israel: - That the conflict that is raging in Israel would not deter believers one bit from going to Israel to share in its joy as a rebirthed nation, to comfort the Jewish people and bring the love of God to them - That we as believers would come into a position that we would be able to help Israel as a nation in such a way that she would not have to lean so heavily on the financial assistance of the USA. Like Joseph was to his brothers we are the closest of kin to the Israeli's, even though, as with Joseph, they may not be able to see that yet. That God would open the eyes of believers as to the mystery of Israel and her function in the last days before the return of the Messiah Just as Christ is a mystery that can only be observed by revelation, so too God calls Israel a mystery! The church of Jesus Christ is filled with anti-semitism and a total misconcept concerning God's role for Israel before the return of the Messiah. After the church was birthed the Jews found it hard to understand that God in His mercy would turn to the Gentiles. In a similar way the Gentile church now finds it hard to understand and accept the fact that God would in these last days again turn to Israel in great mercy before His second coming. Paul, I believe wrote Romans 11 exactly with this in mind and cautions the Gentiles: "do not be arrogant towards the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who are supporting the root, but the root supports you." Pray for the fall of Islam and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit The fall of Islam and the latter outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT are closely linked to God's dealings with Israel in the latter days. See Joel 2 & 3, Ezekiel 38 &39, etc. Pray for the believers living and working in Israel. Both from Gentile and Jewish origin. The Jewish Messianic believers especially are under much pressure. In Israel the supreme court has ruled that you cannot be a Jew and a believer in JESUS at the same time, whereas JESUS Himself was a Jew! Of the total Israeli population of 4,5 million, about 6 000 are believers. Pray for the coming of Elijah There is a very specific promise in Malachi 4 that God would send Elijah before the great and terrible DAY OF THE LORD, to restore the hearts of the fathers to the children. Before the first coming of the Messiah there was one, John the Baptist, who prepared the way of the LORD.
