Built-in FTP - OpusFTP

Because of the object-orientated design of Opus, we can readily add new modules and commands which intergrate smoothly with the other components of the program. Opus 5.5 features a built-in FTP module which allows you to access remote FTP sites directly from your Opus workbench. You can now simply drag and drop files between remote FTP sites and your local hard drive or use standard Opus commands to act on the remote files. For example, just double-click on a remote readme to view it in the Opus Text Reader.

The image above shows Opus 5.5 accessing my local AmiNet site plus some sample OpusFTP buttons and the FTP addressbook.

Custom Buttons

New button editor provides control over the appearance of the button banks.

Create a traditional button bank with standard Amiga window and borders

Or create a new-style borderless bank of image buttons.

Filetype specific pop-up menus

With Opus 5.5 you can customise your own pop-up menus according to the type of file.

Scripts

New Scripts system allows you to execute commands whenever a particular system event occurs. Multiple User Menus

The new user menu editor allows you to have an infinite number of user menus and you can now have sub-items on each menu item.

FileTypes

Opus filetypes system lets you automatically recognise specific types of files and perform actions accordingly.

Add commands to be executed when you double-click on a file or 'drag and drop' it to another directory. With Opus 5.5, you can even add your own pop-up menus to files of specific types.

Automatic Filetype Creator

Opus 5.5 now provides a system called the 'Automatic Filetype Creator'.This makes identifying unknown files and creating custom filetypes easier than ever before.

Lister Field Titles

Opus 5.5 allows you to have optional field titles for Name mode lister displays. These provide instant re-sorting of the directory listing according to the field in ascending or descending order. For example, with Opus 5.5 it's just a single click to resort and redisplay a directory listing by date or size or any other field you have chosen..
