The Amiga RC5 Team Effort Enters Top 10 Statistics

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 7th 1997

The Amiga RC5 Team effort is proud to announce that on October 7th 1997 the collective effort headed under the Amiga banner has entered the Bovine top 10 statistics in the ongoing RC5-56/RSA Secret Key Challenge. The team currently consisting of over 800 members and 1500 machines is aiming to bring exposure to the Amiga by rising in the effort statistics and capitalizing on this ranking in the media.

After nearly 50 days of participation the top 10 barrier has been broken, and a fifth daily ranking promises more to come. Our original aim of reaching the top 100 overall has been surpassed beyond our expectations.

The effort is still looking for more members to strengthen our position and make an even higher ranking possible; if you have any machine that is not yet participating, please visit the effort homepage for information on how to join.

A number of Amiga oriented companies, ranging from magazines to software and hardware manufacturers are already supporting our effort, they can be found in the Corporate Hall of Fame section of the effort homepage.

We are also looking for publicity in the general media, with the emphasis on the Amiga and its loyal community that made our success possible. Let it be known that the Amiga is thriving, and is headed for a glorious comeback!

To this end we are looking for volunteers who want to invest some time in organizing and executing various public relations duties, ranging from getting media coverage in every possible manner to recruiting more members. If you are interested, please contact the team coordinator at below address.

We are also looking for ways to extend the cooperation to other current and future collective efforts such as RC5-64, SETI and so on. The current effort shows that much enthusiasm can be bundled with little resources to create a sum much larger than the individual parts, something that is essential to bring the Amiga back into public awareness and to facilitate its comeback.

The Amiga RC5 Team effort supports a mailinglist dedicated to discussion of above issues, please visit the effort homepage on how to join.

For information on how to join, explanation of RC5 and effort issues please visit the Amiga RC5 Team effort homepage at http://www.cistron.nl/~ttavoly/rc5/

Sincerely,
Team Coordinator for the Amiga RC5 Team effort, Thomas Tavoly
