Amiga Atlanta Invites You to the Spring Comdex Show

Attention Amiga Community!

If you cannot afford to travel to London for the World of Amiga Show in mid-May, consider coming to Atlanta the weekend of May 31st and perhaps staying a few days thereafter. You see, June 2nd thru 5th is Atlanta's last Spring Comdex. And, it takes place at the beautiful World Congress Center. Admission to see all the exhibits is FREE. All you have to do is pre-register. You can do that online at www.comdex.com. You can also join the studio audience of CNN's "TalkBack Live" for FREE as well. Since the show's host, Susan Rook, co-hosted Amiga Atlanta's 10th Anniversary Banquet Celebration last year, Amiga users are most definitely welcome as members of her studio audience. By the way, CNN is right next door to the World Congress Center. Talk about convenience. For those outside Atlanta but within the US, all you have to do is call 1-800-410-4266 and order your tickets. For those outside the United States, you can order your tickets from CNN's web site(www.cnn.com). Local residents can pick up free tickets from the CNN Center.

However, seeing Atlanta's Spring Comdex for the last time and being in the "TalkBack Live" audience are not the only reasons you should seriously consider coming to Atlanta for an extended weekend. On Saturday, May 31st at 1 p.m. at the Dunwoody Public Library, 5339 Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd., Amiga Atlanta will hold its monthly meeting. We hope to have a rep from Gateway 2000 with us to talk about his company and its plans for the Amiga. We hope to have a representative from DMB&B as well.

Who or what is DMB&B? Well, six days before Gateway 2000 announced its intention to purchase the Amiga, it made another very important announcement. The company announced the appointment of Darcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles(DMB&B) as their worldwide advertising agency. The selection occurred after a six-month review process, which included presentations at the agency's offices in New York, London, Sydney and Tokyo. By way of introduction, DMB&B Communications is the largest operating unit of the MacManus Group. The MacManus Group posted 1996 worldwide billings of more than $6.5 billion. It now has more than 6,800 employees serving clients in 158 offices in 70 countries.

And yes, we hope to have a lot of fascinating Amigans who could not make it to London. Perhaps you will be one of them?
