Connect a VGA Monitor to your Amiga !?

Yes, people it is possible to connect a VGA screen meant for PC to your Amiga, this gives you the great advantage to use other screen resolutions and give you a much sharper WB view and a screen that is twice as large as the 15Khz screens.
There are some disatvantages too that you must keep in mind, at first you must know that a VGA screen cannot show the 15Khz PAL screens so you won't be able to use the Amiga start menu when you hold the 2 mouse buttons wile resseting the Amiga, and you can't play most of the Amiga games anymore as most of them produce 15Khz screens,
The old 15Khz programs can be used only when you install a patch that catches the 15Khz screens and converts them into the VGA resolution, this Patch is known as ForceVGA and is Freeware, it can be downloaded from Aminet.

The 15Khz converted only give you half a screen but they can be used.
The greatest advantage to connect a VGA screen is its low price. Iff we want to connect a VGA screen we have to build or buy a VGA adaptor, i personaly have build one becourse a)It is cheaper and b)It is a nice thing to do that is iff you know about working whit electronics like me.
I have build 2 different adaptors becourse the firstone didn't work at all, so lets forget about thisone, the second one works great, i'm actuely typing this text on the new Bull VGA screen. It is such a good and easy to build hack that i put it online and you can download it HERE. The building is simple it uses 1 IC on a peace off perfboard.
Iff you want to build thisone i wish ya a lot off luck !!!

And at last i want to give you folks some usefull tips :
1)Iff you work on the screenmode wile you have connected a VGA screen you have to look out becourse iff you do something wrong you will get a 15Khz screen, and you won't be able to see this whit VGA, i have a bootable WB disk for this whit the VGA mode installed, so keep this WB disk and offcourse the Pal screen whit the Amiga.
2)When you buy a VGA look for one wich have a scanrate off 50x31.7, so you can use multiple screenmodes later.

In the end off this document i want to wish you Amiga users out there lots a luck and fun whit your VGA screens, it sure did make my Amiga computing alot more fun.
