All right...its the moment you've all been waiting for...the beta version of WebView 2.1i. The 'i' stands for "internet", because now you can get on the 'Net with this version of WebView. I really shouldn't have to write a long winded manual (I don't want to either...). Here is what you have to do to install it... 1. Run the LibInstall program 2. Edit the Preferences File Editing the preferences file is easy. Its put into Envarc:webview.prefs. You just need a text editor (Ed will be fine). Here is what it'll look like, and what you put in where... WebHead.font/32 WebHead.font/24 WebHead.font/21 WebHead.font/17 WebHead.font/15 WebHead.font/12 Webtext.font/15 Webfixed.font/15 WHITE BLACK RED LACED http://www.yahoo.com/ smtp.erols.com erols.com bintzer@erols.com sys:t/ sys:t/ *END OF FILE* The first eight lines are the WebCleaner fonts, done by Andrew Graham. You can change these to any fonts you wish, in the format .font/size. The next three are Default Paper color, Text color, and Link color. Then, if the next line is LACED, WebView will be interlaced. DON'T DO THIS ON OS3.1! The next line is the Start Page, then SMTP server, SMTP Domain, and EMail address. The last two are Cache Drawer and (not working yet) Default Save Drawer. Why no snazzy interface? I have one done, its just that the driver for Intuition Interfaces for Amos doesn't like it too well. Its really good, though. When it works. Then, just start up WebView. You don't need to be connected to the 'Net to use it...remember, it used to be an offline page viewer. The buttons and areas on the screen are easy: Title Bar Moves WebView back and Intuition forward Buttons: First Load a Local Page Second Reload the Current Page Third Quit WebView Fourth Access History/Cache Pages Fifth Save current page Memory Gauges Type in a destination address Slider on the Right Look up/down page Zoom Gad on Bottom Change to non/interlaced If you do want to get on the 'Net, though, I'd be careful. WebView is buggy buggy buggy when on the 'Net. Forms work, though. That's good. Well, enjoy! And, if you do want to tell me your $.02 about WebView, write me at uv334@freenet.victoria.bc.ca. Bye!
