README file for SimCity CD-ROM, Copyright (C) 1993-1994 Interplay Productions Updated: April 8, 1994 System Requirements: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * VESA-compatible Super-VGA card, capable of 640x480 256-color display * 4mb total system RAM * 2mb available EMS RAM * Approximately 560K free conventional RAM (RAM below 640K) VESA Requirement: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SimCity CD-ROM requires a VESA standard driver to be installed. If your video card has VESA built into ROM, and it is a fully-implemented VESA, SimCity should function perfectly. If you do not have a fully conformant VESA BIOS, you may run the program UNIVESA.EXE (in your SimCity directory) before running SimCity, and this will take care of any incompatibilities. UNIVESA.EXE is a TSR that loads itself into memory and allows most systems to support the VESA BIOS extension. Troubleshooting: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * If you have any difficulty with SimCity CD-ROM, or receive some type of error while running the program, please write down any information that the program displays, such that we may be of greater assistance to you. * See the VESA requirement above for information on the VESA standard. * If the scrolling in the main (Edit) window is too slow, try downsizing the window (using the Resize Icon in the lower right corner of the window). A smaller window is able to scroll faster than a large window. Online Manual: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The entire SimCity manual is available on the full version CD-ROM disc. You may view this manual during most parts of the game by pressing F1.
