:: Introduction ::

JDiskReport enables you to understand how much space the directories and files consume on your disk drives. It helps you to find large, old, and obsolete files and folders. Therefore, it analyses file trees, and collects statistics which are presented as overview charts and details tables.

JDiskReport focuses on understanding what's going on with your disk space. There are other tools that help with cleaning hard disks.

:: First steps ::

  1. Click 'Analyse a File Tree' in the start panel.
    A directory chooser opens.
  2. Choose the directory that you want to analyse.
    JDiskReport now analyses the given folder. This may take some time. The tool then shows the main panel
  3. To choose where to look at click a folder in the left navigation panel.
  4. By clicking on a tab in the right panel you can select the view group.
  5. At the bottom of each tab you can choose between different views.
  6. You can switch sorting order and display of file size/number of files in the toolbar.
