The Operating Mode determines whether the emulation can display only the 
standard 128 ASCII character codes or the entire 256-character set. 

Note:  The Communications Parameters must be set for 8 data bits and no parity 
for 8-bit mode to be fully operational.

Select either 7-Bit or 8-Bit operating mode for the emulation. 

If 7-Bit is selected, the characters displayed are limited to the standard 128 
ASCII character codes. 

If 8-Bit is selected, the characters displayed can include the entire 
256-character set of the personal computer including graphics characters. 

Note:  The Communications Parameters must be set for 8 data bits and no parity 
for 8-bit mode to be fully operational.
