    database graphics toolkit

Fast becoming image interface of choice for PC programmers because of
its power, consistency and flexibility. It will concurrently work under
    22 different database management systems.

dGT contains PHOTO, EXHIBIT and LASRTRAX, several utility routines and
a broad range of sample images. All support the most popular formats for
paint programs, scanners and vide digitizers. Each is fast, easy to use
and needs less than 32k. dGT can retrieve and display an image from a
field in database, thereby reducing disk storage requirements, conserving
directory space and enhancing security and system integrity.

PHOTO converts the text screen to a compatible graphics mode, then
superimposes a miniature copy of the image onto a selected portion of
the screen. A superiro grey scalling algorithm produces photographic
    quality images on standard VGA.

EXHIBIT is a full screen full colour image viewer. It automatically
resizes the image to fit the screen, or optionally provides high-speed
hardware panning for oversize images, state-of-the-art anti-aliasing
lets you read a full page of typewritten text on a standard monitor.

LASRTRAX is a powerful resident screen-print routine for laser printers.
It reproduces any text or graphics-mode screen image in 17 to 65 gray
levels, at up to 6250 dots per sqaure inch, with accurate aspect ratios.
Images can be produced in several sizes, in either landscape or portrait
orientation. Produces presentation quality hard-copy from virtually any
    screen.

    Feature Summary:

    - the industry standard VESA BIOS Extension is now supported. Each
module now tests for the presence of a VESA BIOS at initialisation
time. If one is found, VESA-complaint I/O routines are used.

    - LASRTRAX can prduce an image in four different sizes, large
landscape, medium-size portrait, miniature-size portrant and new
        "tiny" portrait.

    - dGT has support for Intel's SatisFAXion and compatible FAX boards.
Using one of the viewers of LASRTRAX it is now possible to view
        or print multiple-page faxes.

    - PHOTO and VCR have been modified to run as functions. Each return
the last keystoke entered by user, or zero if the display has been
timed out. This allows development of applications which seamlessly
respond to user keyboard input (if multiple images have been
displayed in the same window, only keystroke for the last image is
        returned).

    - Three new utility routines have been added to each of the libraries.
These include CLRSC, DELAY and VIDINT. CLRSC will clear tthe screen
to a specified colour or attribute. DELAY will wait the number of
seconds specified on the command line. VIDINT runs any video
        service interrupt (INt 10h) routine.

    - All of the utility routines including BLINK, COLOR, IMGCAP and VGA,
plus three new oned, are now available in linkable object form.
From within the database application it is now possible to test for
the presence of VGA or EGA and then invoke VCR or PHOTO depending
        on the results.

    - dGT can display or print images directly from database memo fields.
Thereby reducing reducing disk storage requirements, conserving
directory space and enhancing security and system integrity. This
feature turns an existing database into an integrated database.

    - PHOTO mini-viewer will project one or more reduced images over
part of a text screen, in any of six window formats.

    - EXHIBIT full-screen viewer resizes images to fit your screen, or
"pans" oversize images using the entire video buffer.

    - Fast, easy to use and compact, the viewers can readily be shelled
from any DBMS or other application. Viewers will run on any VGA
or EGA, and support GIF, PCX, SCx and HP PCL files in 2, 16 or 256
colours, in any size up to full page scanned at 300dpi.
