[About The Guide]
Disk CoProcessor got a premature interrupt.
Occurs on: 286 only. This is an Abend error.
Meaning: When the Disk CoProcessor Board (DCB) completes a request made
to it by the 286 CPU, it sets a flag in its internal dual-
ported RAM and then sends an interrupt request to the CPU.
When the CPU receives the interrupt request, it accesses the
flag from the DCB's memory and checks it as an internal
consistency check. If the flag is not valid, the file server
generates this error message. This is a fatal error and it
usually means that the memory on the DCB has failed or been
overwritten.
Cause: The most probable causes for this condition are power or
hardware failures. Also, this error could occur if other cards
installed in the file server are using the same IRQ line.
Solution: Power off and then back on the file server. If the error
continues to occur, check to make sure that no other cards in
the file server are using the same IRQ lines as the DCBs.
Then check the line power to the file server and try
replacing the Disk CoProcessor Boards.
