Title:
Shell Correction for Applications that use File Control Blocks for File I/O

Applications that use file control blocks for file I/O and rely on the
ability to read or write to a closed file will not work correctly with the
2.0a++ workstation shells. The application may report errors such as "disk
full," "invalid file handle," or "read past the end of file."

One application known to experience this problem is Autocad v2.52 by
Autodesk.

The problem is corrected by patching the workstation shell object files and
then regenerating the workstation shells. This patch applies only to the
files listed below with their sizes and dates:

                                ANET2.OBJ 50500 11-20-86
                                ANET3.OBJ 54284 11-20-86

These files are found on your working copy of the "GENSH-2" diskette and are
included with the following version of NetWare: Nondedicated 286 v2.0a, SFT
NetWare Level II V2.0a, and SFT NetWare Level II/TTS V2.0a. If you have an
earlier version, you will need to obtain the shell objects from NetWire
(BUFFSHELL.ARC) or from your Novell supplier.

Patches for the "ANET3.OBJ" and "ANET2.OBJ" files are as follows (all
underscored characters are entered by the user):

"ANET3.OBJ"
debug anet3.obj <CR>
-e A286 <CR>
xxxx:A286 75.74 <CR>
-w <CR>
-q

"ANET2.OBJ"

debug anet2.obj <CR>
-e 93CA <CR>
xxxx:93CA 75.74 <CR>
-w <CR>
-q

The patches are now complete. You will now need to re-generate the shells
in the ordinary manner to make these changes effective.
