                      WINDOWS 3.1 DRIVERS
                      -------------------

                            for the

                         HP ULTRA VGA
                         ------------

The drivers included on this diskette provide support for 
Windows 3.1 in the following resolutions:
	1024 x 768	256 colors
	800 x 600	256 colors
        640 x 480       256 colors.
The 256 color modes at 1024x768 and 800x600 require 1 MB of
memory (HP VRAM Upgrade Kit, HP D2326A, must be installed).

                I N S T A L L A T I O N
                -----------------------

Windows 3.1 Driver Installation
-------------------------------

1. If you have not installed Microsoft Windows 3.1 on 
   your computer, please do it now.  Refer to your Windows 
   manual.

2. In your Windows 3.1 directory, type SETUP at the MS-DOS 
   prompt, and then press ENTER.

   The System Information screen appears.

3. Select the setting for the "Display"(using the UP ARROW 
   key) and press ENTER.

   A screen listing the available drivers appears.

4. Scroll to the bottom of the list(using the DOWN ARROW 
   key), select "Other," and press ENTER.

   Setup requests you to insert the display driver diskette 
   provided by the hardware manufacturer.

5. Insert HP Ultra VGA Windows Drivers diskette into drive A 
   (or drive B), and type
                       A:\  (or B:\)
   then press ENTER.

6. Select one of the available drivers and press ENTER.  See 
   the section below about display resolution.

Please refer to the Microsoft Windows User's Manual for details
on loading drivers from another vendor.


                  D I S P L A Y   R E S O L U T I O N
                  ------------------------------------

When you install the HP Ultra VGA driver,  BE SURE THE RESOLUTION
SET IS WITHIN THE CAPABILITIES OF YOUR DISPLAY.

The resolutions of HP displays are shown in the following
table:
                       640 x 480    800 x 600    1024 x 768

              D1188A      yes          yes           yes

If you are using a display from a different manufacturer,
refer to your display manual to verify the screen
resolutions it supports.
