Title : University Honors Lounge Filename : hlounge1.MAP Author : Edward "Scorpion" Davis Email Address : ebd@utk.edu Misc. Author Info : I'm a Geology major at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I'm in the Honors Program at UT, and this level is based upon the Honors Lounge/ Computer Lab that all of us loung lizards hang out in. Description : This map is intended to provide hours of Dukematching fun in the stimulating environment of the UT Honors computer lab/ academic lounge. There is, of course, the computer lab area, but adjacent to that is the TV area that has the ugliest mural in the world on the wall. I tried to approximate it here with the posters, Dukeicon, etc., from the game, but I couldn't do it justice. I also included the conference room , the copier room, the "little" bathroom, and the Assistant Director's office. I put in the men's room at one end of the lounge, but I left the women's room empty, because I've never been in there. I also didn't put in the adjacent dormitory rooms or the Director's office, but as the Honors lounge will be expanding into several of those rooms this fall, I may include them in a revision. Right now these doors are labeled "restricted access" and don't go anywhere. I did put in the video camera that is a constant reminder to us honors students to be good.... Sorry, but this map is so detailed that it runs extremely slooooow on a 486. Oh, well. Additional Credits to : Dr. Broadhead for being such a great Honors Program director and those great guys at 3DRealms for bringing us DUKE3D. And my parents for buying me a pentium PC. =) Copyright (?) Information:Ummm..... Have fun with my level, but don't distribute it without this little .txt file, OK? You can change it around if you want to, but then it wouldn't be as accurate a depiction of the HL. ================================================================ * Play Information * Episode and Level # : Whatever; it's just a user level. Single Player : Nope, sorry. DukeMatch Level : Yes, definitely. Hours of fun. Not too big, perhaps too small for eight players, and some people may become irritated by all of the doors, but it is based upon a real place, so what can I say? Difficulty Settings : Yes, I put it so that the weapon powerups are graduated based upon difficulty. On Piece of Cake there's just shotguns, laser trips and chainguns; on Let's Rock I added the freezer and pipebombs; and on Come Get Some you can use the Shrinker, the RPG, and the Devestator! * Construction * Base : Update of my own new level from scratch. Editor(s) used : Run of the mill BUILD editor that came with DUKE3D. Known Bugs : I fixed all of the door squashing bugs, but this level still does not run at all well on a 486/66 with 8Mb RAM. I've tried. Sorry, I just put in too much stuff. * Where to get this MAP file * FTP sites: BBS numbers: Other: When I wrote this the only place to get it was at my web site at http://funnelweb.utcc.utk.edu/~ebd/ or my friend Aaron's at http://www.people.memphis.edu/~uacgwin/ If you got it someplace else, please e-mail me at ebd@utk.edu I'd just like to know where my little level has gotten to.
