The Barking Cards 96 Lite 1.1 Valentines Day Readme File  1/27/97

Barking Cards 96 Lite includes one of our favorite Valentines Day 
cards which you can personalize and send.  You can customize 
the text in the card, add more text, add photos or clip
art, record voice messages or add pre-recorded sounds.  When you're 
done personalizing the card, simply hit the DONE button on Main Editing
screen and follow the instructions for saving the card.  You can then 
send the self playing card to your recipient by attaching it to an 
email or by saving it to diskette and sending the diskette.  The self 
playing card will run on any Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 system with 
the following minimum requirements:

- 486DX (or higher) IBM PC compatible 
- 8 MB of RAM
- 5 MB of available disk space
- VGA or higher Video board
- Sound card (if you want them to hear the sounds)

To Install the product:

1. Use an unzipping program (like PKUNZIP) to unzip the BARKVDAY.ZIP
file into a temporary directory.
2. Run the Setup.exe program from that directory and follow the 
instructions.  DO NOT INSTALL "BARKING CARDS LITE" INTO THE SAME
TEMPORARY DIRECTORY IN WHICH YOU PLACED BARKVDAY.ZIP. THIS WILL CAUSE
SOME QUIRKY PROBLEMS.

Also the installation program doesn't recognize long file names so
don't use a directory name of longer than 8 characters (or the 
files won't install). 

(Sorry, the Barking Cards program is cool but the third party 
installation we chose for its small size leaves a little bit to
be desired).


Barking Cards 96 Lite is a demo version of our Barking Cards 96 
product line.  You may use it for 30 days to evaluate it provided you 
agree to the licensing terms for evaluation users in the LICENSE.TXT
file. If you don't agree to the terms then you should remove our
product from your computer.  After 30 days, if you are satisfied 
with our demo version and wish to continue using it, you must 
register it.  Use the ORDER.TXT form for registration.  The 
registration price is $7.95.

The Barking Cards 96 Lite software may be distributed freely in the
original form (i.e. BARKVDAY.zip) as downloaded from from any of Blaze 
Technologies' authorized distribution outlets.  You are not permitted 
to modify the software from its original form, and you are not 
permitted to distribute any installed copy  or separate files.
Please refer to the licensing agreement (LICENSE.TXT) for more 
information.  

Disk Vendors, Shareware Distributors and BBS(s) may charge a nominal
fee for distribution of Barking Cards 96 Lite. The recipient of our
product must be informed, in advance, that the fee paid to acquire it
does not relieve the recipient from purchasing Barking Cards 96 Lite
if the recipient continues to use the software.

Known Problems fixed in this version:
1. Cards that are played on systems without sound capability no longer
hang.
2. Recorded messages can now be saved to long file name and long file
directories.
