This can be done under Windows95 or NT as follows: - Double click the MyComputer Icon - Click on the floppy drive's icon in explorer with the RIGHT mouse button - A menu will pop up. Select the 'FORMAT...' option - In the 'OTHER OPTIONS' section select the 'COPY SYSTEM FILES' option - Press the 'START' button 2. Copy ALL files included in this ZIP file to the bootable floppy. 3. Keep the floppy in your drive and restart the system. 4. The system will start up using the floppy. 5. The Flash'n'Play application will automatically start. 6. Follow the instructions given. ================================================================================ Trouble shooting: ================================================================================ If the flash application fails to locate your recorder please try the following: 1) Tertiary Ports Standerd computers have 2 IDE ports. If your system has a third IDE port (such as on a sound card) then you may have to specify the exact interupt and IO address of that port. To select settings for the tertiary port replace the line: ATAFLASH.EXE in the autoexec.bat file found on the boot floppy with the following line: ATAFLASH pXXX iXX where pXXX specifies a hexadecimal port address, and iXX specifies a decimal port interrupt. Example: ATAFLASH p168 i10 for tertiary port at address 168(h) and interrupt 10. 2) Hardware conflicts If your drive is the only device on the IDE bus then it is possible that it will not be found by the application. In that case you can try one of the following: - Connect a second IDE device to that bus. - Connect the drive temporarily to the other bus with a device already on it. - Flash the drive on a different computer - Use a different IDE cable to connect the drive. Always make sure you have properly configured the devices as master and slave. Please read your manual for more information about master/slave configuration. ================================================================================ ================================================================================
