*** QUICK START *** TO RUN SLIDE SHOWS: FROM WINDOWS: choose Run from the File menu, and type in the following command line (assuming your CD drive is drive D:): D:\WINTRAV\TRAVEL1 substituting the letter of your CD drive if it is some letter other than D:. Because of the removable nature of the CD-ROM, the program will not copy any files to your hard disk or create any icons or program groups. Windows will automatically handle video and mouse drivers; if the colors or resolution do not seem correct, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your video display card for an updated driver. NOTE - To run the Windows-based slide show, you should have SHARE loaded in your CONFIG.SYS file. Please refer to your DOS or Windows manual for information on how to install SHARE. FROM DOS: type GO to call up the Chestnut main menu, and choose the selection "View Slide Shows." The menu program will ask you about your video display card; please consult the documentation that came with your display card if you are not sure. IMPORTANT NOTE -- Before running this slide show, you MUST have a mouse driver installed; otherwise you will not be able to navigate (or exit) the slide show. Once you choose "View Slide Shows," the main menu is then removed from memory in order to run the viewing program, and will not reappear unless you run GO again. IF THIS METHOD IS TOO SLOW or does not work with your display adapter, run the file \SHOW2.BAT. While the interface is more primitive, the speed is much faster and a wider range of display cards is supported. Use the space bar to advance pictures. A mouse is not supported on this menu.
