Glossary
call number
The unique label of letters and numbers given to each library book and put on the spine (the back) of all library books and bound periodicals. The call number determines the exact location of the book in the Library much like every house in a city has its own street address. For example: PR3014.G55 1994 is the call number for a specific book. The UCF Library uses the Library of Congress Subject Heading.
