For more information about the ICA Win16 Client, see the Citrix ICA Win16 Client AdministratorÆs Guide, available in an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file (ICA_Win16_Guide.PDF). The file is in the \DOC directory on the Citrix ICA Client CD. Use the Adobe Acrobat Reader or Exchange program to view PDF files. You can download Acrobat Reader for free from the Adobe Web site at http://www.adobe.com. You can also find documentation on the Web at: * http://www.citrix.com/download, on the Citrix Downloads page; click ICA Clients * http://www.citrix.com/support, on the Services Portfolio page; click the Product Documentation tab and choose ICA Clients New Features in This Release ---------------------------- Version 6.20 of the ICA Win16 Client includes performance enhancements in the following areas: * ICA display * Client printer management Installation Instructions for the ICA Win16 Client --------------------------------------------------- See the Citrix ICA Client Administrator's Guide for step-by-step instructions for installing the ICA Win16 Client. Limitations and Known Issues ----------------------------- 1. The number of ICA sessions you can have open simultaneously is limited to three sessions plus the Remote Application Manager window. 2. Simultaneous audio: If you are running multiple ICA sessions, you can play sounds on only one session at a time. 3. If you choose color cursors, they are rendered in the client window in black and white. 4. If you install a Web browser after installing the ICA Web Client, you must reinstall the ICA Web Client. The Web client component (Netscape Plug-In) needs to be registered with the browser so that when you select an ICA file in an HTML file, the browser knows what to run to invoke the ICA file. 5. Multiple-session OS/2 Mode parameter: When an ICA session is minimized, it goes into a sleep mode, freeing up system resources for other applications or sessions. If the user is doing anything in the session when it is minimized (for example printing or copying files), session performance slows down. If the user is connected to the session through a modem, or is doing a time-dependent activity, the sleep mode can cause problems. To increase the user's flexibility in choosing when the session will sleep (if at all), you can add an extra flag to the Appsrv.ini file called "OS2Mode." Add the OS2Mode parameter at the end of the [WFClient] section of the Appsrv.ini file with one of the following values: OS2Mode=0 This results in 100% CPU utilization at all times OS2Mode=1 CPU utilization drops when the session is minimized OS2Mode=2 CPU utilization drops when the session window is out of focus or minimized Any other value defaults the setting to OS2Mode=0. By default, the Appsrv.ini file does not contain the OS2Mode entry and thus defaults to sleep on minimization. Note: The Citrix ICA Client program group is not created under OS/2 unless you run the client setup from a full screen or window session of Win-OS/2. 6. ICA Win16 Client regression: You cannot connect to a Citrix server using the IPX, SPX, or NetBIOS protocols after installing version 6.20 of the ICA Win16 Client (the version shipping with MetaFrame XP, Feature Release 1) in the following circumstances: * If you install version 6.20 of the ICA Win16 Client on a client device and then install an earlier version of the ICA Win16 Client. Attempting to connect using the earlier version of the ICA Win16 Client will fail. * If you install and then uninstall version 6.20 of the ICA Win16 Client, and then install an earlier version of the ICA Win16 Client. 7. To use version 6.20 of the ICA Win16 Client with MetaFrame for Windows Version 1.8 on Windows 2000 servers, the server must be running Service Pack 2 for MetaFrame 1.8. If you use version 6.20 of the ICA Win16 Client to connect to a MetaFrame 1.8 server that is at Service Pack level 1, the connection will be dropped the next time you attempt to connect.
