The Client Information system. User Notes: How to Use the Client Information system ---------------------------------------------------- This application shows some of the advantages of the OS/2 work place shell when it is harnessed through a Desktop install procedure and an open application design. The desktop install procedure was written with DIPWRITER from TopDesk Software. The Application is written in C & PM. Creating a New Client: ---------------------- To Create a new client record open the folder and then open the "ClientID" program by double click on the Icon. Enter the appropriate information about a client of yours. The program will then create a data folder to contain all the persons information, inside the "Clients" folder. The name of this new folder will be the first 8 letters of the clients last name. Updating and Making Notes: -------------------------- To review/update an existing client record simply highlight that persons folder with the left mouse button, and while holding down the right mouse button, drag the folder over top of the ClientID program and drop the folder on top of ClientID's icon. If you wish to create/update the notes about a client, drop the folder onto the "Notes on Client" Icon instead. Printing: --------- Each client data folder contains two more objects, one created by the clientID program and the other is created by the "Notes on Client" program. You can print off the client information by dragging and dropping these individual Objects onto the printer. This gives you the ability to only print off the notes on a client, or the client ID information or both. Lots of Clients: ------------- If you have a lot of clients in the client folder try the client folders "TreeView" or "Details View" under the Open sub menu on the folders menu.
