═══ 1. Help - Setup ═══ The Setup dialog allows the user change program settings for the System Sounds program. All setup changes are saved when System Sounds is exited and are used on subsequent initializations. Select the Performance radio button to indicate that the program should not close and reopen the audio device for each audio event. This setting is appropriate when not attempting to run WIN-OS/2 with multimedia extensions while BocaSoft System Sounds is running. This selection lends the best performance for sound generation. Select the Compatibility radio button to indicate that the program should close and reopen the audio device for each audio event. This is useful when attempting to run WIN-OS/2 with multimedia extensions while BocaSoft System Sounds is running. This selection has somewhat less performance in generating audio events. Select the Start Minimized check box to indicate that the program should start in a minimized state. Select the Memory File Size Limit entry field to indicate the maximum size for files that are to be cached by System Sounds in system memory. This setting is useful if you are attempting to associate very large files with system events, if the file size is greater than the Memory File Size Limit it will not be preloaded into system memory and will be played from disk. Select the Disable Events check box to disable audio for all System Sounds events, this setting does not apply to key sounds. When selected the program will unload any memory based audio files, which are not also associated with key sounds, from memory. Select the Disable Keys check box to disable audio for all Key Sounds, this setting does not apply to event sounds. When selected the program will unload any memory based audio files, which are not also associated with event sounds, from memory. Select the Disable Events, Keys check box to disable audio for all Event and Key Sounds. When selected the program will unload all memory based audio files and close the audio device. Select the Volume circular slider control to indicate at what volume level the program will generate audio. Select the OK push button to accept the current settings and dismiss the dialog.
