Just click on an item and respond to the prompts which are presented. ═══ 2. Help For Your Game ═══ The entries in this area will aid you in your quest for the perfect game. ═══ 2.1. The Grip ═══ Use this area to check your grip. ═══ 2.1.1. Left hand. ═══ 1. Place the club across the 1st finger and palm. 2. Close the hand over the club. 3. The V from your thumb and 1st finger points to your right shoulder. 4. You should see three knuckles. 5. If your fingers are dug into your palm you need thicker grips. 6. Keep your hands firm. ═══ 2.1.2. Right hand. ═══ 1. Use mostly fingers. 2. The right little finger rests behind the 1st finger of the left hand. 3. The V from your thumb and 1st finger points to your chin. ═══ 2.2. Ball position ═══ Use this area to find where the ball should be placed at address. ═══ 2.2.1. Wood shots. ═══ 1. Your feet should be 18 inches apart. 2. The ball shoud be placed just off of the left heel. 3. Close the stance slightly so the swing will be longer. ═══ 2.2.2. 2-3-4-5-6 iron shots. ═══ 1. The stance should narrow. 2. Place the ball more to the right. 3. Open the stance slightly so the swing will be shorter. ═══ 2.2.3. 6-7-8-9 iron shots. ═══ 1. The stance should narrow. 2. Place the ball more to the right. 3. Open the stance slightly so the swing will be shorter. ═══ 2.3. Hooking and Slicing ═══ Use this area to find out how to hook or slice a shot. ═══ 2.3.1. Hooking ═══ 1. Move both of your hands more to the right on the grip. 2. Use a normal swing. ═══ 2.3.2. Slicing ═══ 1. Move both of your hands more to the left on the grip. 2. Use a normal swing. ═══ 2.4. Chipping and Pitching ═══ Use this area to find out how to chip or pitch a shot. ═══ 2.4.1. Chipping ═══ 1. Use a 4 or 5 iron. 2. Use a very open stance. 3. Your right elbow should be placed on your hip. 4. The club face should be straight at the target. 5. Only use your wrists for the swing. 6. Keep your left side firm. 7. Do not peek at the target. ═══ 2.4.2. Pitching ═══ 1. Use a 7, 8 or 9 iron or the wedge. 2. Keep your hands close to your body. 3. Use an open stance. 4. Bend your wrists to their maximum on the backswing. 5. Hit down and hit hard through the ball. 6. Keep your hands ahead of the ball through impact. ═══ 2.5. High and low balls ═══ Use this area to find out how to go over and under trees. ═══ 2.5.1. High ball ═══ 1. Use a 7, 8 or 9 iron. 2. Position the ball more to the left. 3. The hands should be even with the clubhead at address. 4. Keep your weight on your right side. 5. Use a lot of wrist action during the backswing and through contact. 6. Let the weight of the clubhead do the work. ═══ 2.5.2. Low ball ═══ 1. Use a 2, 3 or 4 iron. 2. Position the ball more to the right. 3. Your hands should be well ahead of the clubface at address. 4. Keep your weight on your left side. 5. Keep your left hand firm through impact. 6. Hit down and through the ball. 7. Keep your head down. ═══ 2.6. Uphill and downhill ═══ Use this area to find out how to address a ball that is on a hill facing the target. ═══ 2.6.1. Uphill ═══ 1. Practice the swing to find the lowest point of the swing arc. 2. Use a straighter faced club so the ball flies low. 3. Keep your weight more on your left side. 4. Aim to the right of the target. 5. Use a shorter swing. 6. Hit up the face of the slope on the hill. 7. Do not fall away from the shot. 8. Watch your balance. ═══ 2.6.2. Downhill ═══ 1. Practice the swing to find the lowest point of the swing arc. 2. Use a more lofted club to make the ball rise. 3. Keep your weight more on your left side. 4. Use a shorter swing. 5. Hit down the face of the hill hitting the ball first. 6. Do not chop or scoop the ball. 7. Watch your balance. ═══ 2.7. Above and below the ball ═══ Use this area to find out how to address a ball that is above or below your feet. ═══ 2.7.1. Above ball ═══ 1. Stand closer to the ball. 2. Position the ball in the center of your stance. 3. Your hands should be ahead of the clubhead at address. 4. Make your grip near the end of the club. 5. Aim to the left of the target. 6. Stay down and bent until the swing is complete. ═══ 2.7.2. Below ball ═══ 1. Make your grip shorter, closer to the clubhead. 2. Open your stance slightly. 3. Position the ball more towards the right side. 4. Aim to the right of the target. 5. Hit straight thru the ball. 6. Keep your head down until the swing is complete. ═══ 2.8. Sand traps ═══ Use this area to find out how to get out of the sand. ═══ 2.8.1. Trap chip ═══ 1. Use a 8 or 9 iron. 2. Use a very open stance. 3. Your feet should be close together. 4. Position the ball more towards the right side. 5. Only use the wrists in the back swing. 6. Hit the ball before you hit the sand. 7. For long shots from shallow sand try a 4 or 5 iron. ═══ 2.8.2. Trap explosion ═══ 1. Use a 9 iron or the wedge. 2. Plant your feet firmly in the sand. 3. Use a very open stance. 4. Open the clubface. 5. Bend your wrists quickly during the backswing. 6. Keep your left arm firm through the swing. 7. Keep your eye on a spot about 2 inches behind the ball. 8. Hit down and thru the sand, do not stop. ═══ 2.9. Bad lies ═══ Use this area to find out how to hit out of bad lies. ═══ 2.9.1. Heavy grass ═══ 1. Use a 7, 8 or 9 iron. 2. Do not try for distance. 3. Hit down and thru the ball. ═══ 2.9.2. Close lies ═══ 1. Hit down on the ball, do not try to scoop it. ═══ 2.9.3. Into wind ═══ 1. Position the ball more towards the right. 2. Do not try to kill the ball, take it easy. ═══ 2.9.4. Across water ═══ 1. This is a normal shot. 2. Keep your head down, do not look up.
