Readme file #2 NetWare Requester for OS/2 version 2.0 LAP Release 1.A--December, 1991 PRE-RELEASE Known Problems -------------- 1. No 3Com LAN drivers were shipped with this release of the Requester. If you select one of these drivers while installing the Requester, the CONFIG.SYS file will be modified to load the driver. However, you MUST manually copy a previous version of the driver to the directory where you installed the Requester files. 2. The following restrictions apply to MVDM network support: - Go into your DOS Settings and change the DOS_FILES option to 255 files instead of the default of 20 files. - Do not execute external programs with the pound sign (#) in your DOS system or user login script. Doing so will cause your DOS session to abort. - If you run applications which have open network files and which execute other applications, your DOS session will abort. - Do not use the Preferred Server setting in your NET.CFG file. (Note that there is only one NET.CFG file for each workstation. This file is used for both DOS and OS/2 connections to the network.) - The Requester installation program may corrupt your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. If the file appears corrupt, rename the backup file, AUTOEXEC.BAK, to AUTOEXEC.BAT and add the following line to execute NETX.COM: c:\netware\netx.com If you did not install the Requester in the C:\NETWARE directory, replace C:\NETWARE with the directory where you did install.
