About Object Utility/2 ═══ The Object Utility/2 is used to register Workplace Shell classes, modify existing instances of Workplace Shell objects, and create new instances of Workplace Shell objects. ═══ 2. Object Utility/2 Create/Modify Instance ═══ Objects dropped on Object Utility/2 cause the main window to open and all information to be provided about the source object. The main window is filled with default values when Object Utility/2 is double clicked or opened through the open menu. Class Name This field is required if the class isn't registered, an instance is being created, or modifing an instance that wasn't dropped on Object Utility/2. A list of existing classes is displayed by selecting the down arrow. This list contains classes that have been registered with the system, and the DLL that the class resides in, is available. DLL Name This field is required if the class isn't registered. The name of the DLL can be specified without the path if it is in a DLL search path. The extension (.DLL) is optional. Object ID This field is required if modifing an existing instance that wasn't dropped on Object Utility/2. The Object ID must be enclosed in angle brackets <>. The Object ID must be unique if creating an instance. Title This field is required when creating an instance. Location This field is required if creating an instance. This is a fully qualified path (including the drive letter), or the Object ID (enclosed in <>) of the folder for the location of the instance of the object. A list of predefined locations is displayed by selecting the down arrow. This list is modified in the Settings-Locations page. Create Instance Select this field to create an instance of the object. Template Select this field to make the instance a template. No Copy Select this field to make it impossible to copy the instance. No Delete Select this field to make it impossible to delete the instance. No Rename Select this field to make it impossible to rename the instance. No Print Select this field to make it impossible to print the instance. No Link Select this field to make it impossible to link the instance. No Move Select this field to make it impossible to move the instance. No Drag Select this field to make it impossible to drag the instance. Note: Styles for objects cannot be changed if they are removed in the class. ═══ 3. Open Default View ═══ Displays the main window for Object Utility/2. ═══ 4. Open Product Information ═══ Displays the product information window for Object Utility/2. ═══ 5. Location Settings ═══ The Locations are used in the Location list on the default view. The default location is used as a default if the user opens the Object Utility/2 by double clicking on its icon or selects Create Object from the Open menu. Add a location to the list by entering the location in the New Location field, then select the Add Location button. Delete locations from the list by selecting all the locations to delete, then select the Delete button. Set the default location by selecting one location from the list, then select the Set Default button. The default location can also be typed in directly, in the Default Location field. ═══ 6. Style Settings ═══ The Object Styles and Create Instance values are used as defaults if the user opens the Object Utility/2 by double clicking on its icon or selects Create Object from the Open menu.
