═══ 1. Help for the Print Sample ═══ Use Print Sample to display and print metafiles, text, and bitmaps. To begin: 1. Select File then Open 2. When the window appears, select a file. The Print Sample can display:  Metafiles  Text  Bitmaps 3. Select OK. 4. Select File then Printer Setup to select a printer, form, orientation, resolution and other settings for your printed output. 5. Select File then Print to begin printing. ═══ 2. Help for File ═══ Use File menu to choose dialogs for opening an object, setting up your printer, and printing. ═══ 3. Help for Options ═══ Use Options menu for functions which let you change the presentation of the object being displayed, such as the page or the font. ═══ 4. Use the Job properties... pushbutton to start a dialog from which you can control your printing configuration. ═══ 6. Select the down arrow to the right of the drive list to see all the drives on your system. 2. Select a drive from the drive list. 3. Select a directory from the directory list. 4. Select a file name from the file list, or type a file name. 5. Select OK to display the file. Help for Open File Name ═══ Type the name of the file to be opened. You can leave this field blank and select a file name from the file list. ═══ 18.2. Help for Type of File ═══ Select the down arrow to the right of the Type of File field to display the available file types. The editor sets this field for all file types. ═══ 18.3. Help for Drive ═══ Use the down arrow to see the drives on your system. Select the drive that has the file you want to open. ═══ 18.4. Help for File ═══ Use File to display all files matching the file name and file type in the selected drive and directory. ═══ 18.5. Help for Directory ═══ Select Directory to view the files within a specific directory of your hard disk. ═══ 18.6. Types include metafiles, text, and bitmap. The Print Sample tries to identify the file type for you. If in doubt, just press OK. ═══ 20. Help for Page setup ═══ Select from the listbox the form you want to use. Use the Margins fields to set the margins you want to use. The minimum margins allowed corresponds to the hardware clip limits of the printer. The maximum margins are the size of the form. ═══ ═══ A table of identifiers and references to the corresponding items of data. For example, a listing of the files stored on a diskette. ═══ ═══ A representation of an image by an array of bits. The OS/2 logo displayed by this operating system is an example of a bitmap. ═══ ═══ A set of drawing instructions. When the instructions are "played," the result is graphical picture. The Print Sample can show metafiles, but the OS/2 Picture Viewer is especially designed for viewing metafiles. ═══ ═══ An ASCII text file. Use the OS/2 System Editor to prepare plain text files.
