Help for progress status window 


═══ 1.1. Progress Status Window - Main Window Help ═══

This status window will display activities which occur while the XXXXXXX 
software is running.  Progress status is grouped and divided into categories. 
An example of a category is 'Client Installation'.  Once an activity has 
started, its associated progress will continue to display until that activity 
has completed.  Once completed, the progress control will be deleted. 

If a problem occurred while performing an activity, the activity control will 
halt and you will be allowed to delete it.  When this occurs a 'Confirm' button 
will enable allowing the removal of the control representing the activity.  You 
will only be allowed to remove a control by pressing its associated 'Confirm' 
button. 

The 'Confirm' button could activate for the following reasons: 

o The activity was unable to complete 

o The communication between the activity and the progress server has failed. 

o The program managing the activity had a catrostrophic failure 

Note:  Remember, that a control will automatically delete if the activity that 
it represents completes in its entirety. 


═══ 1.2. Close Button - Help ═══

Closes the Progress Indicator window.  However, pressing this button will have 
no affect upon the actual activities which are reporting progress.  You may 
reopen the Progress Status window at any time and those activities will display 
their correct progress. If the 'Close' button is disabled, you are not allowed 
to hide this window.  You may, however, minimize the window by pressing the 
minimize button in the upper right hand corner of the Progress Status Window.

Pressing this button will retrieve the help for the entire screen 


═══ 2. Progress Indicator Error Message Help ═══

This message box will display when an error occurs with the Progress Status 
Window.  This message corresponds to a problem which occured while the Progress 
Status Window was adding a new activity to its list of activities for a 
particular progress category.  The activity which the control actually 
represents will remain unaffected.  All other machine activity is unaffected. 
Please write down the error text located within the message box as well as the 
phrase 'add activity' and report this message to DataCard. 

Note:  Even if the progress status window is not showing, it remains active and 
always processes requests from all parts of the system. 


═══ 3. Progress Indicator Error Message Help ═══

This message box will display when an error occurs while the Progress Status 
Window was removing an activity (.75), enabling a 'Confirm' button (.15), or 
updating a control (.10) for a particular progress category.  The activity 
which the status represents will remain unaffected.  All other machine activity 
will remain unaffected.  However, please write down the message within the 
message box as well as the phrase 'removing activity' and report this error to 
DataCard. 

Note:  Even if the progress status window is not showing, it remains active and 
always processes requests from all parts of the system. 


═══ 4. Progress Indicator Error Message Help ═══

This message box will display when an error occurs while the Progress Status 
Window was processing a 'Confirm' button click for a particular progress 
control. The activity which the status represents will remain unaffected.  All 
other machine activity will remain unaffected.  However, please write down the 
message text within the message box as well as the key phrase 'process Confirm' 
and report this error to DataCard. 

Note:  Even if the progress status window is not showing, it remains active and 
always processes requests from all parts of the system. 


═══ 5. Progress Indicator Error Message Help ═══

This message box will display when an error occurs while the Progress Status 
Window was processing an activity light state change for a given Activity. The 
actual activity which the status represents will remain unaffected.  All other 
machine activity will remain unaffected.  However, please write down the 
message text located within the message box as well as the key phrase 'process 
AL' and report this error to DataCard. 

Note:  Even if the progress status window is not showing, it remains active and 
always processes requests from all parts of the system. 


═══ 6. Progress Indicator Error Message Help ═══

This message box will display when an error occurs while the Progress Status 
Window was processing an resize message for the entire Progress Status Window. 
All operations are completely unaffected.  All other machine activity will 
remain unaffected.  However, please write down the message text located within 
the message box as well as the key phrase 'PISizeHandler/PIButtonSizeHandler 
windowResize' and report this error to DataCard. 

Note:  Even if the progress status window is not showing, it remains active and 
always processes requests from all parts of the system.
