PREFACE.1 How This Redbook Is Organized

This redbook contains 227 pages. It is organized as follows:

° Chapter 1, "What Is OpenDoc?"

This chapter describes the OpenDoc technology, which offers a solution to a new way of working with what is conventionally called documents.

° Chapter 2, "OpenDoc Description"

This chapter describes the OpenDoc technology, its basic components, building blocks and functionality.

° Chapter 3, "Installation of OpenDoc for OS/2"

This chapter describes the installation of OpenDoc for OS/2, the hardware and software prerequisites necessary before the installation.

° Chapter 4, "Sample Scenario of Using an OpenDoc Document"

This chapter describes the integration of OpenDoc in the Workplace Shell of OS/2 Warp. This is done by describing a sample of a real life scenario. It reflects the considerations that need to be done by ISVs as well as enhanced users or system integrators.
