All Audio templates have functions to record, play, and edit sounds. It enables you to insert sound bits (or sound data such as .WAV files) in an OpenDoc document. The Audio Part is not allowed to be embedded in the other parts, except the Container Part.
We will show you a sample of an Audio part which is embedded in a Container Part (see Figure 141). To create this sample, you must do the following steps:
1. Drag and drop the Container Part template from the OpenDoc Templates folder to the Desktop or a folder to create a new OpenDoc document.
2. Drag and drop an Audio template from the Multimedia Templates folder on to the Container Part.
3. Drag and drop a sound file (WAV file) on the Audio Part object.
Figure 141 shows an embedded Audio Part in the Container Part being activated. Since the Audio Part is activated, the Selected menu is available for the Audio Part.
As you see in the Open as menu in Figure 141, there are four kinds of part handlers available for the Audio Part, as follows:
° Audio editor
° Player
° Play/Stop
° Quick recorder
Each of these part handlers is a separate part handler. If you select the Play/Stop handler as shown in Figure 141, it will play the sound file.

The Audio editor has the function to record a voice or sound to create a new sound file or edit an existing sound file.

As shown in Figure 143, an audio player is displayed by selecting Player from the Open as menu.

As shown in Figure 144, Quick recorder is displayed by selecting Quick recorder from the Open as menu.

Since audio files cannot be displayed, they will be represented as icons on the document, but can also be displayed as buttons (as shown in Figure 145).

1. Select the Audio Part to be activated.
2. Select Show as in the View menu.
3. Select Button in the Show as submenu.
The icon will change into a raised button. You can select the button to automatically play the file within a part using a single mouse click. Correspondingly, you can stop file playback with a single mouse click.
