3.7.3 Uninstalling OpenDoc Developer's Kit 2 for OS/2

If you have installed The OpenDoc Developer's Kit 2 for OS/2 on your system, you have to remove it before installing OpenDoc for OS/2 Version 1.0 as included in The Developer Connection for OS/2 Volume 9 Special Edition.

To uninstall the previous version you have to perform the following steps:

1. Delete all OpenDoc related folders from your Desktop. The default folders are the ones shown in Figure 85 in topic 3.4.1.

2. Edit your CONFIG.SYS file and remove all references pointing to OpenDoc and the Developer's toolkit. You will need to modify the LIBPATH and PATH lines and remove the lines added during the Developers Toolkit installation process. (You can use as a reference the CONFIG.ADD created during the Developer's Kit 2 installation process in the OpenDoc directory Figure 115 shows a sample CONFIG.ADD created during Kit 2 installation.)

3. Edit your OS2.INI file with an INI editor and remove all references to OpenDoc. To do this you will need an INI editor like EDITINI (shown in Figure 116), which is included in The Developer Connection.

You will need to delete the following:

° Delete all entries under <OD_Settings> (for example, IBM:kind:TestContainer).

° Delete all entries under Docshell (for example, DraftWindow).

° Delete all entries under PM_Workplace:Location that start with <OD.

° Delete all entries under PM_Workplace:Templates that begin with ODwps (for example, ODwps:229811:SimplePart-SimplePartKind).

4. Delete the PARTREG.BTO, AVLSRVR.BTO, OPENDOC.INI, and OSA.INI files (if they exist) from the OS2 directory on your boot drive.

5. Reboot your system.

6. Delete the directory and all subdirectories containing the OpenDoc files. (The default path for OpenDoc Developers kit was \TOOLKITS\OPENDOC.)
