═══ 1. Master Server Window ═══ Each NetDoor/2 environment needs to have one server designated as the NetDoor/2 Master Server. The Master server must be operational before any additional NetDoor/2 servers can be installed. If this server will be the Master, select that radio button. Otherwise, verify that the Master Server is operational and enter its name. The installation program will need to be able to communicate with the Master Server. If communication is not possible, the installation will abort. Note: NetDoor/2 servers that use the IBM LAN Server must be setup as Domain Controllers or as Backup Domain Controllers as described in the LAN Server documentation. ═══ 1.1. Master Server name entry ═══ If this server is not the Master server, enter the name of the existing Master server in this entry field. The Master Server name is limited to 8 characters. The installation program will need to be able to communicate with the Master server before the installation can be completed. ═══ 1.2. Master Server ═══ Select this choice if this system will be the NetDoor/2 Master Server. The Master Server is automatically both an image and a data server. ═══ 2. Update Master Server Window ═══ This server must be defined in the NetDoor/2 environment at the Master Server for the installation to be successful. If this has not yet been done, take the time to do it now before continuing. ═══ 3. Protocol Selection Dialog ═══ The Protocol Selection dialog allows you to select the allowable connection protocols that the server will support. You can choose to provide NetDoor/2 service over more than one protocol, as long as the prerequisite software for each protocol has been installed on this server. To change protocol information at a later date, the NetDoor/2 installation must be run again. ═══ 3.1. LAN Server protocol check box ═══ Check this box to provide NetDoor/2 via LAN Server. LAN Server must be installed on this system in order to make this selection. ═══ 3.2. TCP/IP NFS protocol check box ═══ Check this box to provide NetDoor/2 via Network File Server (NFS). TCP/IP and the NFS daemon must be installed on this system in order to make this selection. ═══ 3.3. Previous Button ═══ The Previous button will allow you to return to the previous entry panel to make corrections or verify your answers. ═══ 3.4. Next Button ═══ The Next button saves your answers on this panel and allows you to proceed to the next panel. You will not be able to proceed if all required information is not completed. ═══ 3.5. Exit Button ═══ The Exit button will allow you abort the installation. ═══ 4. LAN Server Domain Controller Dialog ═══ This system is a LAN Server domain controller, so it will be set up to provide NetDoor/2 Data Services, which allows NetDoor/2 clients to access the environment. You may also elect to have this system provide a NetDoor/2 image. It is not recommended that domain controllers also provide the image if it will be servicing more than fifty users. If this system is not a domain controller and you are reading this panel, it is because this system is setup to be a backup domain controller. You will need to exit the installation and do the following: NET ACCOUNTS /ROLE:MEMBER Restart the installation and run it to completion. NET ACCOUNTS /ROLE:BACKUP ═══ 4.1. NetDoor/2 Image Check Box ═══ Check this box to have this system provide a NetDoor/2 image along with NetDoor/2 data services. It is not recommended that domain controllers provide an image if it will be servicing more than 50 users. ═══ 5. LAN Server Additional Server Dialog ═══ This system is a LAN Server additional server, so it will be set up to provide the NetDoor/2 image. The image is the collection of NetDoor/2 programs and files that are provided for use by the client systems. ═══ 6. TCP/IP NetDoor/2 Server ═══ The TCP/IP NetDoor/2 Server can be configured to share a NetDoor/2 image, provide NetDoor/2 data services resource, or both. Note that at least one server of each type must exist in your environment. The NetDoor/2 image is the collection of NetDoor/2 programs and files that are provided for use by the client systems. A NetDoor/2 TCP/IP server MUST have a NetDoor/2 image if it is also a LAN Server Additional Server. You will be forced to install the image if this is the case. The data services resource is used by the client systems when they initialize. A NetDoor/2 TCP/IP server MUST have a data services resource if iti is also a LAN Server Additional Domain Controller. You will be forced to install the data services resource is this is the case. ═══ 6.1. NetDoor/2 data services check box ═══ The data services resource is used by the client systems when they initialize. A NetDoor/2 TCP/IP server MUST have a data services resource if iti is also a LAN Server Additional Domain Controller. You will be forced to install the data services resource is this is the case. ═══ 6.2. NetDoor/2 image check box ═══ The NetDoor/2 image is the collection of NetDoor/2 programs and files that are provided for use by the client systems. A NetDoor/2 TCP/IP server MUST have a NetDoor/2 image if it is also a LAN Server Additional Server. You will be forced to install the image if this is the case. ═══ 7. NetDoor/2 Image Drive Specification Dialog ═══ You need to select the local drive where the files that comprise the NetDoor/2 image will reside. There must be at least 30MB of free space on the drive chosen, but you should select a drive with more free space to allow room for customization and future expansion of the environment. ═══ 7.1. NetDoor/2 Image Drive List ═══ All local drives in your system which have at least 30MB of disk space are listed. Select the one to use for the NetDoor/2 image. ═══ 8. NetDoor/2 Data Services Drive Specification Dialog ═══ You need to select the local drive where the files that comprise the NetDoor/2 data services resource will reside. The data services resource requires 1MB of disk space. ═══ 8.1. NetDoor/2 Data Services Drive List ═══ All local drives in your system which have at least 1MB of disk space are listed. Select the one to use for the NetDoor/2 data services resource. ═══ 9. Alias Name Window ═══ Enter the LAN Server alias name to identify the NetDoor/2 image on this system. The alias must be unique within the domain that this server is in, and can be no more than eight characters. ═══ 9.1. Alias Name Entry Field ═══ Enter the LAN Server alias to identify the NetDoor/2 image on this system. An alias name is limited to 8 characters. ═══ 10.
